RULES AND GUIDELINES }
there are only nine of them, we promise
  • Respect the staff and show some maturity when you make your suggestions for how to improve SHINE. Talking back to the staff over every little thing is a sure-fire way to get yourself banned.

  • Your username can be as creative as you want, with spaces and capitals and anything else. However, please don't register with profanity or numbers after a word (i.e.; lolgirl27). It looks ugly and makes your administrator sad.

  • Don't spam in the cbox. You may, however, link your name to your forum. That's right, advertising in the cbox is fine (as well as in your signature) as long as it's not obnoxious spam.

  • Speaking of obnoxious, don't be it. Wouldn't it be snazzy if you were the first mature thirteen year old? Yeah, it would.

  • "Fuck" is one of your administrator's favorite words. If you are not able to handle occasional profanity, mature subject matter, or god forbid, homosexuality, this isn't really the site for you.

  • That said, we still want to see a good amount of respect in the community. If someone says they are uncomfortable, try to be understanding and move on to something else.

  • Keep arguments in the rant and debate forums.

  • Don't stretch the page. Posts and signatures that stretch the page will be deleted. The maximum size for images is 500x500 pixels. Signatures should be around 500x250 at the largest.

  • Double posting is bad, so avoid it. There are circumstances where it is accessory, we know, but be conscious of this rule as much as possible.

  • You know the rest of the usual rules; no pornographic images, no spamming, give credit where credit is due, avoid chatspeak, etc. Just think first and it should be okay.

CONSEQUENCES }

So what happens if you break a rule? In most cases, one of three things:
  • A staff member will delete the offending post and contact you

  • A staff member will contact you about the problem

  • You will be banned. n___n The staff doesn't have time to play patty-cake with members who are just itching to break rules and be rebels, so you will be banned either for a few weeks or permanently.
How do you avoid getting banned?
  • Follow the rules, but that's a given.

  • Admit you made a mistake instead of arguing with the staff.

  • Take a break from SHINE and cool down.
