Hello and welcome to the site! This topic is to help new members find their way around the forum ad let everyone know what features SHINE has to offer.

First off, allow me to introduce myself; My name is Zander and I am an alcoh-- joking. I am the creator of SHINE. While I have owned other forums in the past, this is my first time hosting a resource forum. As such, I would love as much help as I can get, so if you have any suggestions, go ahead and drop them by in this forum. You can also ask any questions you have about SHINE in that forum.


Now then, off to what this site has to offer:


SHINE is hosted on iPBfree. This is makes the forum very similar to invisionfree forums, but with a little extra to offer. Including a snazzy skin selector located at the bottom of every page. Look for it in the left hand corner (there should be a little orange icon next to the drop down list of skins or you can change it from the "my controls" link). SHINE has a shop, too thanks to our server. You can find it at this link.We also have a lot more automatic codes available for when you are posting.


Like most forums, we have a live chatbox. To access it, use the link to it under the forum name "chit chat live". It's the fourth forum on the board index/main page. You can also just use the sidebar version.

After a bit of exploring the site, you will find that SHINE has a lot of different categories available and things to do. So, where to begin? Try posting an introduction topic in the welcoming forum. As the forum description says, the only way to stop being a newbie is to start being a member.


From there, you need to see what interests you the most. There is a lot to do here at SHINE, so you are sure to find something up your alley.

The forum directory is pretty awesome. It's going to be viewable to guests very soon and is already viewable to our growing member database. All the forums advertised there are organized into their fitting genre. You have to be a member to post, but other than that, it's pretty easy to do, just take a look in this topic (click).

Naturally, we have a selection of roleplay-related forums. Most of them can be found in this category (click). There you can find help for picking a play-by, pitch your ideas for roleplays, find plotpages, and many other things. You can also search for forums to join and advertise your own in this forum.

If you have wide-eyed dreams of being the next Shakespeare or Dickinson, you should take a look at the writing forums we have to offer. From character development to peer reviews, there is a lot available in this category.

Show Off and Etc. is not just about writing, however. You can also set up a profile with information on yourself in the domains forum. Use the space for whatever you want, you can set up a public journal, create a list of interests, anything.
